Hello,

okay, you know I cannot be obkective on the Fb04 Fred Design but
(there is a but)
I bought mine to Fred (Yes, I wanted to be objective ;) )
when he went back from IWA.

Now in France there is a law which make a difference between the knives you carry on yourself and the knife you carry in a bag.
So my "StreetBowie" is always in my bag, fast to be deployed.
(you know cutting in 2 a baguette is a hard task !)

I use it for a lot of chores, even trivial but I consider it as a wonderful way to deal with scums.

But you? WHat are you doing with that light but strong knife.
(ooops going subjective again...)

And don't forget if you don't like your FB04 Fred Perrin Street Bowie, mr Fred Perrin himself will search you and ...
(oops I don't want to be subjective again...)

Just be careful with your answer.
;)
I think he got a computer now. He can even watch us! No NO NOOOOOOOOO!

Nemo, the Perrin is IMO a good multi purpose knife. It's a nice camp knife, sports fishing knife and also MBC knife. It's lightweight, not too big and flat ground. A perfect combo.

The true is that my girl friend loves to use it in the kitchen. I don't blame her ;)

I've used mine in the garden, the kitchen, the garage, and carrying IWB in less than desireable areas.

I bought it solely for its self defense capabilities but I've found it to be an amazing performer all around. I have yet to find a task at which it doesn't excel.

I use mine as my IWB carry knife. But I really responded to ask you to pass on to Fred my congratulations on a great, great design. And kudos to Spyderco on flawless execution.

So far I have used mine in kitchen only to fight some wild steaks and malicious vegetables. And I must say it is really great fighter!
In summer I’m going also to defeat some pretty strong and dangerous barbecues.

Oppss, just forgot to add – currently I use my Fred Perrin fixed blade to write an article on newest SPYDERCO knives for one of Polish magazines. Not really writing with knife but as illustration only...

BTW, Nemo, slight off-topic. I’m going to visit EUROSATORY trade show in Paris after some weeks. Would I be OK (according French law) with my usual travel knife – Delica – in my pocket, not bag?

The Perrin is superb. Great all purpose kitchen knife, woods/trail knife, and a good one for self defense as well.

The Perrin cuts like a much bigger knife and I find the handle to be most comfortable.

I'd prefer the false edge were sharp but I understand the legal issues that prevent Spyderco from manufacturing that way.

Thanks to both Fred and Sal for making this knife available.

Pretty much use my Perrin for anything except the tasks that a true wrecking bar is better suited to. I carry it fairly regularly, and it's my favorite all around knife. It does terrific in the kitchen, knocking around the woods, around the house, and I honestly feel the knife has excelled at every darn task I've ever asked of it. I haven't used it to clean any critters yet, but I've got a real strong feeling it'll do just fine.

can you tell I'm fond of this one? It's by far the best fixed blade knife I've owned, and I find it incredible that the knife does so many different tasks so incredibly well. I paid a bit more for my Perrin than I could have ($110) but I'm still amazed I could get a knife I love so much for that little amount of cash.

In case I've left any doubt in anyones minds...I LOVE THAT KNIFE!:D

Mine goes on the belt when I walk through our bush lot and does general knife duties around the farm. Very handy and with a horizontal cross draw carry, most unobtrusive.
