Are the handles of the new Persian 2 lined with steel behind the G10? This model will finally replace my full size Persian that was stolen when the car got broken into.

Yes, it has skeletonized steel liners on both sides.

Edited to add: Interesting bit of trivia - liners on the original Persian were solid, those on both the bolstered Sprint red G-10 and the new black G-10 versions are heavily skeletonized. All G-10 black version weighs 122 grams on my scale. What seemed odd (to me) is that both the original black micarta and red G-10 versions weigh 152 grams on the same scale, Makes me think G-10 must be a fair bit heavier than micarta.

I had the original Micarta full size Persian... I liked the heavy feel of it.
Then you may want to hunt around for one of the bolstered red G-10 ones, it will feel exactly the same as your micarta one. Am sure there are still a few sitting on dealer's shelves. The "full slab" black G-10 version is very noticeably lighter and its balance point is further back on the handle.

There are few of them on the auction at decent price compatible with on-line dealers, but not as many as a week ago. There were only 700 made. Time to get Red C83 is running out.

Got one today. The original C83 is my all time favorite; so I could not let this pass. Probably paid too much, but I could walk in and buy and be sure of having one.

If I can find another online, I'll probably get it. Not as sure of the black G10 FFG. Definitely feels different - thinner and lighter.
