hi all,

this knife was a colaboration with my friend and idol uli hennicke, one of germany´s best bladesmiths.
on a vacation I visited him and he forged some damast for a big integral I planned.
at home again I forged it into shape and built this knife.

damast 320 layers (by uli hennicke)
ebony
total 34cm long
sharp 19cm
thickness 6-1,5mm

enjoy!

Very, very nice:thumbup: I like everything about that knife, but the transition from steel to wood really catches my eye!

Yes, that would be a definition of flow.

What an amazing sense of style you have.

Whoa! You got MY attention. :D

Gerhard, can you post a sideview of the knife in it's entirety? I love the details, but I want to see the profile.

Thank you!

Coop

@sharpbycoop,
jim, these here are the only `sideviews` I have- they are even worse than the others...

Gerhard,
Quite the skill...to make metal and wood flow like water.
Thanks for the fine photos of the details. I can marvel at your artistry.
I especially like the subtle way the "groove" along the top of the blade is echoed in the handle.
And thanks too for the profile shot. Like Coop I just had to get the full effect.
Wonderful how the whole blade sweeps and flows.
Thanks again for sharing.

Thank you. Wonderful.

Great website, too. I got lost in there for a while. :)

Keep it up!

Coop

So vary nice.
You have some design features which really work on this piece.
For example, the spanish notch is just right in my opinion just to idenify one.

非常喜歡您這種設計的刀子.

thank you all for your kind posts!
I´m glad, that you like my different style of knifebuilding.

coop, my website will get an english version soon-

best regards
gerhard
