Monday I got stuff done so I could use up some of the scraps around the shop left over from the balls-to-the-wall way things normally get done (and the maid service just quit). This is my time to make things normally I don't get to. I have 3 days to work on 4 knives I have been thinking of. I like larger knives sometimes and I have made in the past some interesting Persian copies. This time I wanted to use the idea and go out on a limb and try something. If I don't get them done I will finish later. Another late night coming up.......

I started with 1/4" Crucible V carbon steel and cut this out. I took what I liked about persian daggers and bowies and mixed it up.

I ground both cutting edges chisel ground this time, notching for traction......Smoothed to 400 grit......

...more later....Possible G10 or horse stall mat handle slabs.....

I'm not a fan of chisel grinds, but I do like the blade profile. Looking forward to the final.

I wrapped my handle and put on a glove after tempering the blade...broke several concrete bricks with no damage to the butt....It was witnessed by several people visiting.....sweeeeet!

Finished...'wormwood' textured tan/coyote/brown g10 handle with stainless tube pins, and oven blued finish. (it is hard to see but the blue is bright cobalt blue)
