Does anyone have any more information on the history of Emerson's Persian knives, both the folder and fixed blades?

Also, my 2014 Persian SF says "P-Tac" on the left side of the Emerson logo - what's it mean?

P-TAC stands for Persian Tactical. The fixed blade came first as a weapon capable of penetrating body armor of a kevlar or ballistic nylon nature. The folder I believe came into existence not too long after. Not sure on time line but certainly designed as a weapon. There is no wave on this model simply due to the blade style, you could stab yourself waving the knife out of pocket if it had one.
