Been a fan of folding persians for awhile now. Been grabbing them as funds allow. 860, spyderco large version, couple of others. So far liking all of them. finally realized emerson had them in stock bit couldn't find any dealers who did. So i had the funds and i grabbed it. Ive got plenty of emersons. All have been pretty good to real good so far. So i expected a lot out of this persian. What i got was more than i could have expected. Hands down the emerson persian blows the others out of the water and the other folding persians i got, are pretty darn good. I wasn't expecting the emerson to be this good. Hard to tell online in pictures and videos....but until you get it in the metal you just cant really know.

So now im left wondering two things.... is its lack of.popularity only due to looks? And will i ever be able to get a fixed blade version emerson?

I wouldn't say it's not popular, it's just a purpose driven design where most other Emerson have a bit more utility mixed in.

Love the aesthetics. My only apprehension is the lack of a wave and I'd prefer it a touch smaller.

For a good price or reasonable trade I'd go for one.

Also, a fixed version would be awesome.

Now here i was digging on mine and y'all show off those two. Now those are nice. That custom takes the wow out of mine.

Fair points. I thought id miss the wave but weirdly i don't on this knife. Ill admit there is no other folding emerson id buy without a wave though. I typically always want the wave....even though i rarely use it.

I actually like the size. Its big but the blade is thinner...so it makes sense in my hand and for what im used to.

Im with you on a fixed version. That would be on the top of my list.

^gotcha. Still pretty darn good work. One to be proud of. Thanks for sharing with us.

I'm new to Emerson. My initial research indicated that the Persian was originally offered as a fixed blade. I recently obsessed over getting my first Emerson. Always loved, but never had a Persian blade shape. I got lucky last week and found a like new Persian. It is, too me, so beautiful, and the ergo, fit and finish so wonderful, that I'm in "Hog Heaven." After I become more familiar with my first Emerson, it is my thought to find one of the "Maestro Modders to customize it. Congratulations on your Emerson Persian.

Although I don't prefer the Persian as a folder, I'd definitely pick one up if it became available as a fixed blade.

^custom?

nice, very nice. what does the other scale look like?

I just got my hands on a P-tac too. Definitely a purpose driven blade shape. The ergos in the handle did not appeal to me. But then everyone kept raving how it was in hand. Had to get one for myself. I am very pleased to say the least.
