That's all I've got for now! Both knives are quite light in the hand. The corrugated G10 on the Zulu is very cool and different.

I didn't realize that the Mini-Persian was out. I want both of them, thank you for sharing your photos, they both look awesome

Well, I guess I now know who holds the trademark for the word "Zulu", that Case couldn't use for their most recent Tony Bose collaboration. :p I thought that had gone over to Taylor when they bought out Schrade, but it looks like Spyderco has it now. Better Spyderco than Taylor, definitely.

Went to check them out at the SFO today. Very well made and very nice knives, as usual, but I think I will pass...

Does the Zulu have the same handle as on the PPT?

I don't own a PPT, yet. They look similar yet different.

From what I can discern in the photos of the PPT vs. the Zulu in my hand... I'd say they are quite similar in that they are both corrugated, but the radius of the corrugations on the PPT are smaller. More corrugations per inch, as it were, with the PPT.

Hope that made sense! :)

How do you do that? I mean... Pass? LOL! I haven't been able to pass on any of them! I like'em all. I'm addicted.

Probably since I'm a noob, I'm just giddy like a kid in a candy shop for the first time. :o

I love the amount of belly on the zulu. The corrugated g10 grips are my favorite handle configurations. They provide a great great grip. Much like the Crusader forge monsters.

Here are some close-ups of the scales:

Nothing wrong with the knives, they are very nice. It's just the look that doesn't get me hooked, especially the shape of the blades, which are a bit bizarre to my eye. But I'm sure there are plenty who will disagree with me. :)

racer,
if you had to pick one between these two, which would it be and why?

Please bear in mind that I'm not an "expert" knife reviewer and indulge my "noob" observations. I've only gotten into this hobby last May. But, if dollars spent counted for anything.... :o

I'm assuming the choice is between the Persian and the Zulu? (not the Sage in the previous comparison photo) If so, I think I'd pick the Zulu. Not sure I can give you a rational / functional reason.

The Persian is very nice. But, the Zulu is just so different. It's different on multiple levels. The blade shape is one. And, the scales are another. The whole package is just unique.

Perhaps one could argue that the Zulu is a little more sheeple-friendly. The Persian blade shape is more "aggressive" or "scary" in my opinion. That's not really an issue for me, but just thinking out loud about what some people may feel.

The Zulu feels beefier in my hand. The Persian feels more delicate. For slicing, I think the Persian would be the better choice. For skinning squirrels, I think the Zulu would be better! ;) But, I don't skin many squirrels.

I just like the Zulu. It's just cool... and different. I had to have it, and I'm glad I got it. But, the Persian seemed like a must have, too. The "ethnic" line-up is simply interesting and fun. I just ordered a Chokwe, too. And, I'll definitely be getting a Navaja!

But, if I had to choose between the two... for me... the Zulu wins. Your mileage may vary. :)
