Just got mine, nice knife! But its a little tight. Even with lubricant the blade takes a fair amount of effort to move. If I push in the lock and try to drop the blade it doesn't budge. Is this normal?

Yes I believe this is normal on the Persian. Mine came super stiff and the other one I got to handle was the same way.
A few hundred cycles of opening/closing and some lube have made it much better though.
Careful not to let that blade snap back onto your fingers! The locking spring on this one is so much stronger than on the others.

Mine came slightly tight -- it doesn't take any noticable extra effort to open, and it's smooth -- but the blade will not drop on its own when the lock is released. I think it will break in. I like the knife a lot -- it looks good IMO and the ergos are great.

OK, well that's good to know. Looks like its time for a lot of opening and closing, aka knifesterbation. hehe....oh boy...

My Persian also exhibits this trait though it is butter smooth in operation.
