are all the Persian folders ground on both sides, or were some of them chisel ground?
also, about how much is one worth these days?
 
the ECA P-tacs had ZBG hand ground blades but the std P-tac's are CG's, more or less, i dont remeber the exact terminolgy used but none are ground on both sides like a std 'v' grind, no emersons are FWIW.

as far as value i havent seen a std P-tac 4sale in a while now, if its in LNIB shape i would say $150 or so, maybe a bit more, the ECA P-tacs can go upwards or $400 or so.
 
luckily i have one of each i prefer the ECA chisel zero handground blade to the conventional two sided "V" grind
 
They are not chisel ground with the flat back side like the 7s have. They are ground on both sides but they have the single edge bevel, like all EKIs do.
As SIFU1A said the ECA Persian has a zerobevel ground blade but the production blades have the "standard V grind".

As to the price of Persians I have spent from 100-160 for production blades over the years and actually just got one for 150 the other day.
If its NIB I would be happy to pay near the 150 mark, give or take. If it's used then the price should come down from there in tune with the condition of the knife.

The Persians are apparantly discontinued now as well so the prices may get bumped up a bit because of that.

The Persian, like all of the larger EKIs, is very easy to inerta open or as Armadew points out the thumb disc can be used to wave it as well.

I can deploy a Persian and cut with it pretty much as fast as any of the waved knives.
 
The Persians have beatiful, smooth flowing lines. If nothing else, a wave would destroy the perfect flow of these knives. Just my opinion.
 
The real question is...where the heck can you get one!??! I want one to send to STR for some foliage green micarta and a framelock.
 
They are rather hard to find but a few places do still have them.

You could try the "want to buy" forum as well.
 
EKI is doing a limited run of black Persians. They are taking names for the list. Emerson's facebook page says they should be done this week, posts on another forum say within a month. Either way I've got one coming. I've wanted a Persian for a while, Im not sure when they will be available again. I would like a matching one in stonewash.
