Persian

Hi everyone,

I am interested in the persian style folders, but I am hoping to find some more info. So besides the Emerson Persian and the Cold Steel Scimitar, is anyone aware of another manufacturer which produces a persian style folder?

Spyderco persian. The small one is still available, but the large one is discontinued and will take more time and $$ to get. They are the best quality persian style IMO.

Here's Spyderco's large, which is discontinued and rather expensive if you do find one.

Thanx for the info. Rbendele great looking knife you have made, but I made up my mind and am on the lookout for an emerson persian for now.

While there is a few folks that make "Persian" folders like EKI, spyderco, CS etc. There is many Persian-esk knives out there that are worth a look at too.

My personal favorite is the Emerson Persian but the Spyderco is also a real nice knife, but its about as rare as chicken lips now unfortunately.

Spyderco discontinues a lot of models and brings in new regularly.
A model has to be very popular to stick around in their line very long.

IIRC, C83 Spyderco or "Large" Persian was not very very good seller.

And was discontinued in 2005, but Spyderco currently making C105, 75mm (or small) Persian, which is great knife as well.

spyderco persians are cool, i had one for a while and swapped it off for something or another, but in that style knife i always liked the emerson P-tac better.

Spyderco's (and James Keating's) Chinook 3, pictured below, is very Persian-esque in its blade style/shape, and it's also tough as nails!

Buck's Kalinga Pro folder (on the bottom in the picture) could also qualify as a 'Persian' style blade.
