Yeah, I know, bear with me guys... one more VS question.

Just trying to narrow down my search for my EDC...

Im thinking of jumping right over the Persistence / Tenacious debate and going straight for my gut feeling... the Delica.

Do you think there is a noticeable difference in quality tween the persistence and the Delica? Clearly the design is all different.

Thoughts?

the steel for the delica is better, but I like g10 handles and the liner lock on the persistence.

I really like both. I tend to carry the Delica more because of the huge weight difference. I also feel that VG10 is better overall than 8Cr13MoV; better rust resistance, edge holding and still easy to sharpen.

The Persistence is a really good deal for the money though.

The persistence is a really good knife for the price point, however the delica is just that much more quality.

Just the comments I was figuring I would get... thanks Gents... I think we are honing (pun intended) in on a target.

Delicas go for $50ish. For $25 more you can get both & have a backup &/or gift for someone. Unless you're totally broke, I'd say get both.

I have both (waved Delica, Persistence & Tenacious) & the quality is very high on both. The steel is the biggest difference between them, quality-wise. The fit & finish are similar. If you're a fan of one of the locks over the other, that could decide the issue.

The liner on the Persistence is plenty thick & locks up centered. The action is smooth. Both pivot on bronze bushings. Ergos on both are great, the Persistence being wider in blade & handle.

Most folks seem to prefer g10 over FRN handles but the Delica is probably a bit grippier thanks to the excellent texturing. Both give a good grip without being abrasive.

For the best of all worlds, shell out for the G10 Delica. I have the G10 Endura & can't say enough about it. On the strength of that impression I'll probably be getting the G10 Delica myself soon for work carry.

I recently switched from the D4 to a Tenacious for blade length and FFG reasons since I already ha both. While I love the Tenacious and its a great knife (the one I have is 10/10 F&F) I miss the ergos of the delica's lockback for my southpaw useage as well as the finer finish to the blade steel. I'm currently trying to decide which model Endura to switch to, but thats simply because the D4/E4 locks are more southpaw friendly.

I may be an outlier. But I think in many ways the persistence is a higher quality knife (barring the blade steel). It flicks open with speed and has a great liner lock. It's a bit thicker and beefier than the Delica but that is personal preference (I carry my Delica more). The pillar construction and the solid feel put it ahead of the Delica. But I like the smaller and lighter weight Delica plus the cooler colors and the higher end steels. Like ZDP or the H1(it's basically the same knife with a slightly different blade profile).

The persistence is a more solid knife and has zero play and just feels stronger. That being said the delica is a better knife with better ergos, steel and performance imo.
