I just got this little beast a few days ago. I was already ordering an Atlantic Salt and Becker micarta grips from NGK so I figured why not spend another $30?

I really, really, really like this knife. I should also start by saying I bought a Tenacious for one of my friends and played with it for a few days, but it just didn't feel right for me. Because I didn't really like the feel of the Tenacious I wasn't too sure how I would like the Persistence.

I wanted to get the Persistence for something I could EDC to class because of its smaller size (stupid blade length laws) . We all know that if I carried my Military to class I would turn into a crazy-Jack the ripper-serial killing-slasher and instantly loose my cool when I get to class!

Anyways this blade has that great Spyderco feel about it! Great ergos, grip, cutting, lock up, and jimping!!! It rides very well in my pocket and doesn't take up much space. I put this knife in the "feels well above any other $30 knife" range. I think Spyderco could sell these for a good bit more than they do.

I have the Tenacious and the Persistence and both impress me a good deal. The quality control seems very good, these are definitely a great bang for the buck. I bought my Persistence and Tenacious used and the total cost for both was under $40.00.
Even new, though, they are a great value.

Superb Value. I'm delighted with mine. I also think the Tenacious is great too.
I've heard rumors there may be a super-sized Tenacious. I'm very interested to see how that turns out.

I am interested in a full-size Tenacious/Persistence as well.
The 8Cr13Mov steel holds an edge better than I expected it to. It's not S30V, D2 or VG-10 level quality, but it's really not bad, and nice and easy to touch up. I wonder what one of these knives with a VG-10 blade would cost.

What is the largest blade-length folder that Spyderco makes? I would like something with 5 or 5 1/2 inches since I can legally carry that in Texas.

I have been very impressed with mine; very solid, comfortable in the hand and well put together. I actually prefer it to the Tenacious due to the size and placement of the liner lock release cutout (I always partially release a Tenacious or Military when I squeeze them tightly).

An extra large version would be really great. :D
