That said, I've always prided myself on being able to sharpen a knife to shaving sharp reasonably quickly. I thought that was pretty good until I started reading these forums and hearing stories about whittling hairs.
Tonight I sat down with my Opinel #8 and managed to get an edge that would cut a single hair brushed against the edge. I think I can get it the last few microns, but I've been chasing it for over an hour. LOL Anyway, I'm pretty proud. Maybe it's not such an achievement, but it's a first for me.
