Was just wondering how many of the Beckerheads here actually carry some sort of PSK on there person on a daily basis and if so how do you carry it.
Some time ago i purchased the small survival tin ( gold color ) from Bestglide and started carrying mine quite frequently but wasn't crazy about pocket carry. Then it dawned on me my tin isn't much bigger than a cell phone, my solution was in the form of a Maxpedition 4.5 " cell phone holder, spring clip on the back.
Easy on easy off, i don't leave the house without it :)

Here is what I carry. I've added to it since then; just a couple more fire making things. I'm starting to think that I could add a space blanket.

I'm always switching purses and what I'm wearing around, but I try to have a knife, something to make fire, a bit of para cord, and a container to hold water at the LEAST. I'm trying to work out something a little more consistent but I just can't make up my mind.

This bag goes everywhere with me. Theres a couple of things I'd like to find a place for in there, but haven't done it yet. I tend to modify what I take depending on what I'm gonna be doing.
I keep a petzel Headlamp in there with extra batteries. So last week we get a power outtage at work. I'm in the lunchroom and it's real dark, so I whip out the head lamp and eat, my co workers though I was some kind of god or something. They were all trying to use their cell phones as flashlights.

first off, I'm totally jealous of your man purse, but you know that... and I missed a power outage? LAME!

40 oz kleen canteen got left in the car. I took out 1 of the sewing kits, and the carbide sharpener. The Esky is actually always in my pocket now and not in my bag

I added 20 feet of 550 cord, a car charger for my radio.
I'd like to add a small compass, some Celox and an Israeli batle dressing.

i have a personal car kit.

portable jump starter, bottle jack, large ratchet and with some large sockets and extenstion, sog multi tool, bungee cords, water, rope, rain jacket, first aid kit, blanket, extra sweatshirt, small tool set, maps, portable nav, pens and paper.

i don't like factory tools so thats one reason why i have a large oversized ratches and stockets with extenstion, flip sockets work great for this as well.

everyone should test out the tools that come with their car for changing tires and such.i can't stand a tool that doesn't come up to my wrist and elbow for changing a tire, you need something with leverage and extra torque.

if i was outside hiking or something i'd just have a get home bag with your typical stuff in it. i'm partial to camelbak brand.

My bare minimum PSK is my ESKabar, firesteel and paracord. This is on me daily.

I also carry a BOB that never gets more than an arms length away, and my laptop bag is out fitted with my BK2 and knife kit. I also have a "pocket" PSK, which is a small tin, that keeps some small stuff in it.

I have a similar setup to Oregon using the Maxped Monsoon, only it is my everything bag. In it is pretty much everything I would take camping, minus the axe and (depending on my mood or what I am doing to it at the time) my BK2/BK14 setup.

Of the top of my head, it contains the following:

PSK
- CONTENTS:
- Fire Kit
- First Aid Kit
- Emergency Shelter/Blanket Kit
- 30ft Paracord
- 50ft Bankline
- 30ft Jute

Fishing Kit
Trapping Kit
Gerber Sportsmans Saw
Compass (Silva Ranger and small Brunton sphere one)
Tarp/Stakes/Guy Lines
Emergency Blanket (Reusable Emergency Blanket)
Mess Kit (This is pulled apart right now due to some restructuring)
Separate more comprehensive First Aid Kit
Tool Kit
Nomex Gloves
Leather Shooter Gloves
Hammock/Suspension
Miscellaneous firesteels, whistles, and whatnot

The PSK Kit resides in an old hard drive thingy. Lemme see if I have a pic floating around of it. Yeah, here we go.

There have been a lot of changes to the PSK, but I will have to take pics when I get home of it. The bag and everything usually stays in the Jeep, unless I am going someplace I know it is okay to have it with me (my office for one). In the back of the Jeep I have two regular tarps, a quilt, a tent, and my sleeping pad.

Off and on, depending on whether I am hauling anything else around, I also have my tool box, and my DeWalt cordless drill and cordless circular saw with wood and metal cutting blades. I once pulled the drill out to use it after not having charged it for like 8 months and it worked great.

When I get home I will try and get pics of the whole thing together. Been meaning to for awhile anyways.

And always with me, cause I drink out of it all day long, is my trusty Guyot Backpacker Bottle. I also carry a Leatherman Skeletool, Pohl Force Alpha Two, Photon Micro Light, Nail Clippers, 3'x3' Bandanna, 12' Paracord bracelet, and my Casio PAW1200 watch.

Awesome to be a beckerhead ....I'm not the only one with a pocket full of survival gear

Leatherman surge with extra saw and firesteel
Eskabar with paracord and firesteel on the sheath
Bic lighter and surefire e1L with extra battery
100feet of power pro spectra fiber braid fishing line 65#
dou sharp folding sharpener and carbide milling insert on my keyring
Self employed and work outside so I carry my BK mod 72 almost everyday
I also have enough supplies and gear/guns in my truck to recolonized a island.

I did just get a BK 14 and did a para cord wrap on it. I think im gonna put a firesteel in the space in the tang and re wrap the handle over it

That's what I did with mine it works great adds some meat to the handle. And you always have fire and cordage ready.

I also wanted to put a firesteel in the handle and try some plastic dip stuff.

Here is a PSK I carry on outings. It is small and easy to throw in a pack or carry in a tank bag. I carry it when I'm out mountain biking, day hiking or Off-Road motorcycle riding. Of course, I carry dedicated tools and such for each of those different activities. This little pack is in case I end up out longer than I planned to be (i.e. lost).

About the size of a Coke can:

Everything laid out:

Leatherman
Signal Mirror with paracord
Magnesium fire starter
Bic lighter
Tube of Vaseline
Fenix E01 flashlight
Wet-Fire tinder base
Compass
H2O Iodine pills

Yeah, its missing a Becker. Need to make a sheath for my BK13 and fit it in.

What size ( diameter) firesteel did you use? How Long?
