Hey guys. I have a few Ipods and while I like them video is kinda worthless on them cause they're so small. Is there a device out there with about a 5 or 6 inch screen that can have videos downloaded into it. I've seen the Flo Tvs but that's not really what I'm after. I'm looking for a video player that can take my downloaded video stuff and play it just like an Ipod but with a bigger screen. It'd be great to have at the gym while running on the treadmill or whatever. Thanks for any info on this.

Maybe look into something like the Archos 605 media player. Have you tried the iPod touch? It has a 3.5 inch screen and works pretty well for video IMO.

I recommend the Sony PSP... its got a relatively big 4,3 inch screen but still compact enough to throw in a backpack or coat pocket.

Most people think that its only a gaming console but the PSP can handle tons of other stuff.

Check out its video capabilites here: http://www.us.playstation.com/psp/features/videos

I use mine whenever im using public transport or flying....Coupled with some noisecancelling headphones its pretty hard to beat. All i do is move my movies from my laptop to the PSP and im set.

Other advantages include wifi, internet capability, photo storage, gaming and many other features.

Not a bad idea. I'm a little slow when it comes to this stuff so help me out. I have a lot of media stored on my Itunes Jukebox as that's mainly where I get my stuff. Can it be put on a PSP easily? Is there some kind of conversion process to get it on there or just drag and drop from my itunes library.

Well im not entirely sure as i dont have Itunes...but i know the PSP reads movies in AVI, MPEG-4 and MP4 format.
MPEG-4 and MP4 are the same format for Quicktime player, so i assume if you can play your movie on Quicktime, the PSP will be able to play it too.

But i think the new PSP's come with computer-software that automatically converts your media when you import it into the PSP, theres also loads of conversion software on the net. Personally i use "Any Video Converter Professional".

Taken from http://www.us.playstation.com/PSP/Systems/TechSpecs/3000cp.html

All these are drag and drop formats:
Supported Video Codec (in Memory Stick)

* Memory Stick Video Format:
o MPEG-4 Simple Profile (AAC LC)
o H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile (AAC LC)
* MP4 Format:
o MPEG-4 Simple Profile (AAC LC)
o H.264/MPEG-4 AVC Main Profile – CABAC only – (AAC LC) / Baseline Profile (AAC LC)
* AVI
o Motion JPEG (Linear PCM or µ-Lau)

Supported Music Codec (in Memory Stick)

* Memory Stick Audio Format:
o ATRAC3™
o ATRAC3plus™
o MP3
o MP3 (MPEG-1/2 Audio Layer3)
o MP4 (MPEG-4 AAC)
o WAVE (Linear PCM)
o WMA (Windows Media Audio 9 Standard Only)

Awesome, Thanks bro. 32gb would be enough to make me happy with the PSP. That way I wouldn't constantly have to keep shifting media files back and forth. My ipod is great for music but the screen is a little small for video. I could make the PSP my primary video player. I'm still looking at those Archos models though. They have nice big screens.
