Hello,
There was a thread here recently where someone had fitted a gem stone in the hole of the Seb 21. I thought it was a neat idea. I cannot find the thread now so thought I would post here.
I was walking past a jeweler shop recently and there were some gems stones in the window and it reminded me of this so I went and asked about the stones. Some were quite expensive but he had some cheaper ones. So the next day I went back with my knives to show him and we were able to find some cheap stones to fit. I think it looks neat and he did a good job glueing them in, far better than I could do.
He had never seen a sebenza and was very impressed with the large and made a few good comments about how good it was. I think he might be interested in getting one and I said to be careful as there were many fakes as well. He was carrying a Buck knife at the time that he had for about 20 years.

I notice I have a few scratches on my large 21 even though I don't carry it much and now with the green stone it is becoming personalised. :)
The small now has the red stone and I think it looks good.

Nice Anttt!! Actually I was the one who did that thread.. im curious to know exactly what stones you had put in, hard to tell from the pics with the stones mounted, but beautiful color!

Nice touch!

Trident777, could you provide a link or the title of the similar thread that you started? I'm interested in seeing your approach too.

That's pretty neat. Maybe we could match the birth date of the knife to the stone... i believe there's a stone for every month?

Citrine in mine, had it laying around after I did the anodizing and it just seemed logical :)

Not my taste .. but good for you.. to each his own .. I hear ya on the scratches, mine is only a couple weeks old and scratched up a bit . No big deal , like you said personalizes it , beauty marks if you will . My sebenza seems to scratch up easier than my other titanium knives from other brands ...

Yeah I know what ya mean, most guys I know have a thing about filling holes, hehehe JK... somebody posted that it looked like bedazzled or something. I had it done on 2 of mine, and removed one. Maybe i will put it back in there or find another color stone to put in there. Or leave it empty. Whatever the mood is I guess. I kind of like how the 25 doesnt have the pilot holes in the back instead using the larger pivot holes in the 25.

I will say. Removing it can be done cleanly. But if you put too much glue its a pain in the butt to get the residue off. It can be done cleanly but you got to be careful. Guess it depends on the glue you use. If you use just crazy glue it can pop out maybe i dont know i never used any glue other than gorilla clear gel. That stuff is crazy. I wouldnt try this on a grail piece for the first time or anything. Maybe a good user. Its not hard if you have a stone that fits the hole. Just dont go around putting diamonds in it, would put a low value cost stone and the stone can be a synthetic or a natural but something you can replace and wont feel bad if you lose it. Not a permanent mod by any means.
