Perspective.

I was watching CNN while eating lunch today. Had a Navy Lt. Commander on to do comments about the show in NYC today. He looked to be in the same age group as my own kid -- just another kid.

50 years ago when I was a young sailor all Lt. Commanders looked old to me -- old enough to be my dad and most were.

As with everything in life it's all perspective.

Me too Uncle Bill. The longer I was away and the farther I got from home, the smater my grandfather got. He finally wound up being the smartest man I ever knew.

It was amazing how smart my parents had gotten after I came back from 4 years in the military

. When I left they didn't seem to know anything, when I came back they seemed to have delevoped good insight & were actually able to offer good advice

When I was seven, I thought my Dad was the smartest man in the world. When I got to be a teenager I realized that he was pretty stupid. In the ensuing fifty years he hasn't gotten any smarter. But, neither have I.
