On the heels of the Unibomber back-to-nature post, here's an article from Outside Magazine in 1996. A bit long for the internet, but couldn't stop reading.

The fringes of civilization have always produced people like this guy. The incest thing is enough to make you ill.

One quote that resonated with me...

People here in the city ask me why I'm not afraid to head off into the bush or up into the mountains. It's nowhere near as far as this guy but the logic holds true. The low-lifes stay close to their cars. Mac
