pesky Kershaw clip

Tragic thing happened to my Kershaw today. I was at Wal-mart, wearing a jacket, Kershaw in right-front pocket and reaching for something on the top shelf. The bottom seam of my jacket caught the end of the knife clip (curves out a little) and pulled it out. The knife opens in mid-air and lands tip down on the ground. Upon close inspection, I see that the very tip, barely noticeable with naked eye, is bent. *sniff* Oh well... time to get a sharpmaker.

Has this ever happened to y'all? It'd be nice if the end of the clip didn't stick out so... maybe a more rounded end?

Had the same thing happen to me this fall. Caught seam of Carhart Jacket on clip end and out it came. Didn't open when it hit the floor. Took clip off knife and reshaped the end of clip to lay closer to the side. Tried on coat and clip not hanging on bottom seam.

Ive had this happen many times with my avalanche, not only that the end of the clip has worn a hole through my wool coat from catching so many times!!!

Heres a suggestion for you, take the clip off and cut the end off!! you can take most of the tip off and still have enough to clip it, without it sticking up!! (look at the side and notice how much the tip "flares" up!!! thats the problem with it!!!!!!)

p.s. oh by the way if you want to keep your clip in good shape, call kershaw, they will usually give you a free clip in the mail! you can modify it!!! ;)

I've had it happen also. It didn’t come flying out, but was quite noticeably grabbing the bottom of my shirt (like with the rev, I now have a whole in a shirt that is unraveling from the bottom up). But rather than cutting off the end, I would suggest trying to bend the end so that it’s parallel to the knife rather than poking out at an angle like it does. Something similar to a newer (2000 and on, I think) CRK style clip on the Sebenza.
