#48 and #73. The #73 is a little darker than the #48.

An impressive lineup, Dennis.

Is that Dobson paring knife in CPM M4 like his web site says?

thanks for looking guys & frank i believe the parer is from dobson's 1st batch of m4 parers. really gets super sharp , easy to keep it there. i do put a little clear shoe polish on the snakewood handles 3 or 4 times a year since it gets lightly washed often.--dennis

Dennis, that toenail is amazing!

This line seems to come up every time Dennis posts pics of his knives. Usually it comes from me though.
Another nice selection of blades!!!
Dang, that toenail is amazing!:D

Dennis, I only have one snake, the cuban stockman, but when I see all those lined up together it's exponentially impressive. My favorite wood handle material.

Very nice house pets indeed:thumbup:

Good thing they're not the other type of snakes, otherwise we'd have to decapitate your collection Dennis:D They're one beast I've never been fond of:eek:

The wood is really beautiful, I suppose it's not tough like Ebony but more for dress occasions?

First Dennis posts the walnut toenail, now this snakewood. I wanna see all the toenails one day.

Not generally a big sunfish fan but that one is a stunner! Nice clutch of snakes there.:)

They all look great, is that 2nd in from the left a dogleg jack? I'd say thats my fav of the line up. The wood is so pronounced, I wouldn't say no to any of those! great collection.

I am interested in a certain GEC model in snakewood and was wondering if you fine folksies could post pictures of some of what you have. I am somewhat concerned about getting a knife with somewhat poor figure and owned images would do a lot to convince me.

Thank you.

the snakewood on earlier models as shown by duncan has good definition. i was somewhat dissappointed in the figure contrast on the ben hogan model. snakewood is so much like many woods, w/o figure or character contrast you might as well be looking at pinewood.i have been very fortunate in receiving great snakewood in most of my gecs. might i mention that australian snakewood is extremely hard & bowing to joe bobs hint i put some clear paste wax on my handles ocassionally.---dennis

Dennis,
that was exactly what happened to me, been waiting for the snakewood for the ben hogan, but when I saw them, well...I didn't pull the trigger, maybe I'll go for the primitive bone instead, still making up my mind. those snakewood of yours are beautiful by the way.

this mediocre snake along with gecs use of the ugliest acrylic ,[gold glitter] has certainly dampened my enthusium for recent gec offerings. these are certainly not connected to gec dist. in any way but are soley the resonsibility of the owners of gec. members are aware i'm a strong supporter of gec but the latest handle materials have gotten my interests to wane greatly.---dennis
