A few months ago, when Peter, Bobby, and I, were all standing in Peter's local VFW (Frank was there via cell phone
), of which Pete is Chaplain, celebrating our new union over a glass of Gallo Paesano, he took issue with me about the value of the Internet in communicating his legacy.
He told me that more than anything, he wanted the people in HIS OWN TOWN to know about him.....to know about his contributions to American Servicemen in Vietnam......and most importantly......to know he is BACK, serving his country's men and women in uniform once again.
During his tenure as owner of ATC, Peter was ridiculed by who he likes to call "do gooders" in his very own town, right to his face, for giving our servicemen a "barbaric weapon".....he was called the "crazy old Tomahawk man" and that he was "playing Indian".
The sting from these words has been with him for over 30 years. Well, after a call to his local paper about the re-birth of the American Tomahawk Company, the article below has produced enormous encouragement and words of thanks to Peter by his neighbors and fellow Veterans for carrying on the legacy.
Some of those neighbors even placed orders today to show their support! The article is below.
The grimace I imagine is because I was late for the shoot that day because I was supposed to be there, but by the time I got there, the reporter had already left. Nevertheless, Peter had his day in the sun again, and no one deserves it more than him.
Semper Fi Pete!!!!
