I just learned that on Saturday evening, August 24th, Peter LaGana died, fighting terrible symptoms and equally uncomfortable treatment for lung cancer.

His passion for life in his last hours was more than what any nurse working his floor had ever seen...he simply did not give up, even for a moment.

There is so much to say about "Pete"...much of this will be coming out over the coming weeks and months.

If you wish to extend condolences to the family, I have created an e-mail account for Maria LaGana, Peter's daughter, at lagana_maria@yahoo.com and will make sure she gets your message.

Peter...your friends and your country salute YOU for your service, your example, and your courage.

Thank you for the notice Andy. I too salute and raise my glass to Mr. LaGana for his service and creativity & know-how. To our fallen brother...Semper Fi!

Mr. LaGana fought the good fight until the end. My condolences to his family.

I salute Mr. LaGana and will honor his memory. He was a true warrior, with his service as a combat Marine, he was truly one of the old breed, an American Spartan. As his kind slowly fall away from our country we are weakened by the loss of their presence, strength, dedication, and humbled by their sacrifice. I am proud to have shared his badge of honor as a Marine, humbled by his service, men like him that gave so much for our republic.

Semper Fi, Peter, and I take heart in knowng he will be met at the gates of heaven by his own kind. His memory will live on in his outstanding tomahawk, and Andy's dedication to honoring him and his family, the only one to do so in this industry, will continue to pay tribute to this fine warrior.

It is a sad day and many like I will mourn the loss of this Great American.

Andy, please pass on my condolences to his family.

Melvin

We are all as poorer for his absence, as we were enriched by his presence.

He has faded away, but he is not forgotten.
