Can someone give me some info on Peter Martin knives? I know he's from Wisconsin and was on Forged in Fire, but is he considered an up-and-comer? I have one of his knives and it's made really well and then I see his stuff going for big bucks on a few knife sites. Anyone? Thanks in advance. :)

Peter is legit. He's been around for quite a few years, and his QSB folders are what he's really well known for.
His work is highly regarded. I am mesmerized by his Lava Lamp damascus. Those blades are gorgeous.
He posts quite regularly on instagram (martinknives)

I had a QSB with zirconium slabs, backspacer, bolster, and clip....it had amazing action/F&F but it weighed like 4 pounds so I moved it on. I was also scared that I'd try to engrave it and light myself on fire😂

You should have tried it while recording it, either you would have gotten a cool engraving or an awesome video of you running around on fire. Win-win!

Yes, his lava lamp damascus is unreal. I have one of his flippers and it is an tank - way too heavy to EDC but pretty to look at. I received it as a gift and unfortunately, it's way too "fully dressed" for my liking. Great action though - super smooth.Martin2.jpg

I use to have this Kwaiken from Peter Martin, not sure when he made it but it was at least 10 years ago or maybe even more. I picked it up a while back at a local knife shop and he had it for a long time before I took it home.

So the point is, Peter is no new comer to making knives. This one was 52100 with a differential heat treat (hamon is hard to see).
