I am new to the forum and I posted this thread in another section of the forum.

Could anybody tell me what you think and feedback of Peter Marzitelli Custom Knives?

I am thinking of purchasing one at my local knife store.

I don't currently own one of Peter's knives but I have in the past. His work is top-notch, he builds some some quality folders and attention to detail is among the best. He definately builds a "hard use" folder.

i have a folder. he used hawaiian koa wood i sent him for the scales.

peter is first class and his work is outstanding, ill post a pic of my folder in a bit.

here ya go. sorry for the crappy camera.

I own one of his knives. It's a good edc type knife. He's an excellent knifemaker imo.

I picked one up this past year (spiker sport). I am really picky about custom folders, and this one really passed the test. Nice attention to detail, top notch fit/finish, very nice blade finish and just feels great in the hand. I would not hesitate to buy any of his knives.

Kenblade may I ask where this local knife store is? I have been looking into Peter's knives for a while and if they have a website that would be great.

Thanks everyone for your input.
I am thinking of picking up a Big Snarly and a Spiker.
I was impress with the design of Peter knives but didn't know how it would stand up to everyday use.

Morimotom, that is a sweet knife from Peter. It looks like a Big Snarly with a Ti bolster.

Barrabas74, I will PM you on the info.

it is the tork 2. great knife.

I've owned some Marzitellis in the past, they are well-made knives. I've never talked to Peter before, though, so I couldn't tell you how he is to deal with.

ive spoken to him on the phone, but mostly exchanged emails since it is long distance. he is very nice and helpful. and he emailed replies quickly.

I have met Peter in person and he is a great guy to deal with.
He is very open and easy to deal with.
Has a high standard and is very picky about the quality, fit & finish of the knives he makes.

If Peter doesn't like the finished product, he won't sell it.

He has alot of opinions on various types of blade steel.

I called him a couple days ago to ask about a knife I wanted to trade for and he was very helpful ,it is a 8 in bowie and he took the time to tell me all about it and I think he is mostly making folders right now but says he makes whatever strikes his fancy, a great guy in my book.

I must be a rare one...i bought a big folder called a.....big snarley from Peter directly from his home. His attention to detail is really top notch. A real craftsman and an all around nice man. His shop his humble in size but his equipment is of the best in the biz..he heat-treats. his own steel and uses the best steel for the blades i tended purpose. I also bought a Bowie/Camp 9" knife of Swedish 12c27 tool steel with an AMAZING sheath from him..he said the sheath tool longer to make than the knife..i wish i could post a pic of it..maybe i can, ill try..but getting back to the big snarley..nothing but problems...the main one which is pretty much catastrophic, the linerlock does not lock..basically just holds the blade vertical. I cant really use it because the lock will 100% fail. It cant really be fixed either. Peter doesnt make folders anymore so he cant even repair it. $ 600 paperweigt. :( I think its in the design and thenmain reason the i dustry has gone to frame lock now. Ill still buy from Peter without hesitation, prices are fair and quality is great!
