hello, been lurking for a bit, but haven't started making knives yet (still in the planning/building stage) BUT..
i was given a Peter Wright single horn anvil (for free) and I was wondering if it is worth anything or worthwhile for creating blades.
its stamped with the numbers 1 - 0 - 16 (im assuming this is hundredweight markings..) 1x112 + 0x28 + 16x1 = 128#?
its in pretty good shape overall, 1 pritchel and 1 hardy hole..
the face is reasonably flat (I'll try and get pictures this weekend)
is this going to be big enough to do some Damascus work?
Ive been reading up on making LP/propane single burner forges so i guess that should be my next project....
