I went to the custom shop web site and ordered a knife. The charges were paid on my CC and I saw the statement with the charges there. The order number was Tracking = 100406
Order Date = 10-11-2002

I later received a phone msg from someone at Buck who said they were out of Damascus blades and to call them back.

I have called multiple times, only get to leave a msg, and never get a return call.

How do I get my 2nd choice to Buck (BG-42, third choice ATS-34)so I can get the knife made and to me? They don't answer email either.

Any Buck types come to visit the forum?

Not upset, just stymied.

As a matter of fact, both moderators for this forum are "factory people." If you give them a chance to read your post I'm sure someone direct from BUCK will be in touch. Anytime I've ever had a question or concern the Customer Service Reps have always been more than helpful as I'm sure they will be for you.

HI! I'm not sure if the PCKS email really works. I believe there is some one in the office who is handling phone orders for those who dont have access to computers capable of loading Petes. Email Joe Houser direct and he can steer you in the right direction. He Does answer his mail.
BTW, I'm sorry to hear about the damascus. I've got one and its really nice.
take care

Ditto!

Anyone know if Joe is out of town? No answer on email.

Maybe I should consider email to Mr Buck? I don't want to over react or risk offending anyone tho. and I certainly don't wish to get anyone in trouble if thier is a problem with customer support.

Maybe I will just wait some.

Give Joe a chance to answer you - I think he may have posted that he was going hunting! If he doesn't have any luck, he'll probably be back sooner than later.:D :D

Just checked that post: Joe was supposed to be back on the 12th. Maybe he's recuperating from all that fresh air!

Heard from someone who talked to him that he is back, but has a lot of emails to wade thru.

I can wait.

Sorry for the huge delay! I am back but simply buried, that will teach me to take a vacation!
I have been getting a few emails from folks saying they never get an answer from PCKS. I will take a look at it because i suspect that the email addy in no good or moved or whatever. It just plain in not doing what it is supposed to.
I will get your 2nd choice blade info to the right people.

Thank You! and tell em to credit the diff back to the card I suppose.

Thanks!

oh, and it isnt just the email. They don't answer voice mail either.
they give a number to call which is an answering machine, and I just leave a msg; now several times.

Joe: Please let us know what's up with Pete's if you can. I would like to place an order myself, but I'm gong to hold off until things get back to normal. Thanks

Have not heard from anyone as yet.

I am about to tell the credit card company to cancel the payment Buck got before they began to IGNORE me.

If my experience is not unique then I can only warn you all NOT to do business with Petes Custom Shop or Buck.

I am writing CJ Buck now. Or I would if the Management of Buck listed an email address. Maybe I know why they don't now.
But to be honest, I am already losing faith in Buck, the company. I had thought and hoped I would have received a note from Mr Houser or someone at Buck by now.

Putting a short note in the forum that 'He will send along my 2nd choice' is not what I call calming.

I usually collect Strider or Chris Reeve knives, and if I call them, I get Mick Strider, or Chris or Mrs Reeve. Maybe it is just that the Buck family is about money now and not about knife collectors?

I would love it if CJ Buck posted here apologizing, saying he knows what happened, and that he will fix it. And that he will make it up to me somehow (like finding me damascus his order system promised maybe?) or rebating a portion of my payment maybe?

Of course, they have my email address, and my home phone number also. I have yet to hear from anyone at Buck much less the Buck family.

The knives are nice, but apparently the knife biz is not.

I am still at a loss for what is going on on our end. I checked and we were current with both phone calls and emials. I need to research this some more though because obviosly we are missing something here. Would it be possible for you to email me your phone number so I can have someone call you and take care of things while we try to figure out what is going on?
So sorry for this!!!!

In haste i made that last post. Now in reading it, i do recall the correspondence i have already had with you. I did pass the info along but I am, of course, upset that you did not get a call from our PCKS. I do believe i have your constact info and I will get a status for you today.

Joe, I heard from Sarah tonight at about 545pm. She did apologize and said that she believes that the confusion was due to my names.

I used James for the CC order, as that is what the cc says, and Bill for my correspondence. My last name is still the same in both cases of course.

She says the knife is being built now with the BG42 blade, and will be 2nd day shipped when it is done. She also was instructed to reduce the cost to me by 20% for my pains.

I really wanted damascus, so guess I will just have to order another one when you have the blades in!

Thank you for working this thru for me. The main problem is that you always get voice mail and never a human.

That is something that really should be addressed. I am sure that everything runs smooth when no problems come up; but if is they do they tend to get bigger.

When I spoke to sarah, she said that I should answer her email and givemy cc number so she could refund the overpay for price reduction and bg42 instead of Damascus.

I haven't gotten any indication that she has done that yet. also I asked her when the knife would be made and sent, but she had no answer.

any idea on when the knife will be built and shipped?

thanks

I don't mean to stick my nose in, but cc companies usually take 3-4 days min. to post a credit. Charges of course, are instantaneous.
