My name is Petr Dohnal
I have 45 years old and I live in a smaller town Trebic, Czech Republic.
I graduated from high school and then did various jobs. For a long time I was a computer graphic designer.
We started making knives with my older son (Petr) in about 2002.
The son had studied art blacksmithing school and it started me very interested.
Today is 27 years old son.
Slowly we all learn and for two years we won the competition at the Great Exhibition in Czech Republic - Knife of Pribram 2004. It was a knife with a blade made of Damask sandwiches.
We went to various cutlery exhibitions throughout Europe. France, Germany, Sweden, Hungary, Slovakia ... Our damascus kukri was on the cover of French magazine Excalibur.
We have rented various parts, and in 2007 we bought a large building in a town near our residence Jaromerice Rokytnou.
Prior to join us younger son Michael (20 years old). Did not find a job after high school graphic, and so learned to sew Cases Knife and working with us.
All work on knives we do ourselves.
We do not only fixed blades, knives favorite for tourists, hunters, campers, oudoor ...
Most often we damask knives, blades often use parcial hardening.
We work with stainless steel - only recently Elmax - Swedish powder steel.

I hope you will like our knives, and Gallery visit our website
www.dohnalknives.com

I add an image knives that we sell today.
It's a winning knife exhibition Prno 2013.

Twisted Damascus, the Arizona Desert handles and stainless steel rings.

Mr. Dohnal,

Welcome. I visited your website and looked through all of the galleries of your knives. The work you and your family do is excellent. Your knives are attractive and well made. The sheaths are creative and visually interesting. The carving of your knife handles and fittings as well as the sculptural aspect of the sheaths is very appealing. I wish much success for you and your family.

A family of knifemakers. Very cool.

The knife you have shown here is beautiful. The damascus looks great.

Great looking knives and sheath!

Keep posting the great work. We always enjoy seeing such!

Welcome aboard! It seems we are seeing some very fine work coming out of Europe of late, not sure if there is a new renaissance happening there or what!

Petr, welcome! You do and your sons do beautiful work. I hope to get the chance to see more of your knives, perhaps even in person some day soon.

Hello Petr!

Greatings from your southern neighbour! :)

I really enjoyed looking at your work and will have to contact you about a few pieces soon.

Best regards,
Alex
