Well today my old trusty 2008 Princeton fuel gave it up and the plastic broke...so I went online checked the reviews on the new headlamps out on the market and decided on the Petzl Tikka XP 2. I am not disappointed, this thing is bright as hell!! and at 60 lumens 80 hour run time on high 160 hours on low its awesome on batteries! This things weighs 3.1 oz and can throw a beam 60 meters and use both alkaline and lithium batteries what more can I ask for? Well how about a IPX4 water rating so rain wont kill it.

Which is why I went with a Princeton Tec EOS. Even though the electronics are supposed to be sealed to some degree, was it really worth leaving a lot of the light exposed to the elements like that? I think most buyers of this type of headlamp would happily shuck out and extra $2 for an o-ring sealed body.... But maybe I'm wrong?

Once I was used to the nicee Petzl headlamps, I couldn't go back to handheld flashlights for backpacking and hunting.

Orings would be nice and yes for 55 dollars it should have them but if it breaks rei has always had a good return policy and I carry a surefire light as a backup

I have had many princeton tec lights... i just like the fact that they are indeed waterproof and not just ok in the rain.... I just ordered a new Eos yesterday as my older eos was stolen ... I tried to cope with a zebralight h501 but it just didn't have the same burn time or throw of the eos... I was combining the 501 with a nightcore d10 but i think when the new eos comes im going to rock the 501 on the back of the eos strap to be my in camp wide light! and have the eos in front as my trail light

I also picked up a Tikka XP2 after my ~10yr old Tikka died. Used it on a week long sheep hunting trip and do skin out my doe last weekend. Couldn't be happier with it.

I've sweared by Petzl for a long time. They truly design their products. I've got a Tikka, two e-Lites, and a new Zipka XP (always in my backpack). The Zipka is amazingly compact for how useful it is...Bright 50 lumen white light or red LED too....

The flashlight? It's an Arc-AAA P Cowboy edition. 10 lumens of pure reliability.

Not sure I how I sorta missed the most crucial part of that question -- I meant to ask what kind of knife that was!

Glad you like your Arc. As for lights, I'm very partial to my two Jetbeam Jet-II's, which go from around 2 lumens up to 220 with a variable beam.
