What is this Pewter blade finish on Benchmade knives?
I own a large bm rukus and it has a very nice finish on the blade.
It's a not shiny grey colored smooth finish.
Benchmade calls it "Pewter".

I could not find anything about this with a google search.

I did allready post this question on the "wrong" forum here at BF:o.
I think this forum is better suited.

I think it is just a very fine glass bead finish. It does look very good on a blade.

Yes from the looks of it it appears to be bead blasted. Like he said ^ it looks to be blasted with a finer media than say what Kershaw uses. I do like this finish as it is very smooth and condones easy slicing. I would however prefer a polished stonewash just because its my favorite finish.

Nah i think that nevermind35 or cutter17 are closer with the answer. A finer material used in the blasting process. But what they used, i dunno.

Just to let you guys know I talked to a my Benchmade pusher at work today (I work in a sporting goods store at the gun/knife counter) and he said that the Rukus series were indeed bead blasted.

Thanks for asking my friend:thumbup:.
Nice job by the way:).

A very fine sort of beadblasting.
