I'm trying to find the best PFD for a raft guide. Any suggestions or good sites to check out?

jarlaxle, what is your criteria for 'best PFD for a raft guide?' Who will it be for? Someone with experience on the water or someone relatively new to the sport? Is this going to be a gift for someone? Are there any specific features you're looking for or would consider?

It will be for me. I have some experience on white water, but i will be going through training this May to be a certified raft guide. I just want something that is comfortable, manueverable, and versitile. Thanks again guys!

What do you mean by versatile? do you prefera pull-over style or open in front?

versatile as in place to put knife and other essential gear. Pull over is fine but i also like the side zips. I'm really looking for what other guides have used and liked. Thanks

i is a raft guide and have been for the past almost six years . what river ya runnin? lotus designs is the best for all a round. personally i run the lola and it works fine for east coast class 3-4 whitewater . lotus makes other vests in diferent flavors and configurations so pick one thats comfortable and a tad smaller than what you normally think because when they get saturated from a three trip day they tend to stretch some . just buy one that you can play with the straps some so you dont have to max out the straps to either extreme . you will want to wear it tight but not too tight and not to high or to low on your body . if you need any guide related advice , give holler . i guide on the upper and middle/lower ocoee during the summer here in tennessee . time to get out and play!!!!:D :D :D

Gutsy,
I grew up not far from you, actually about 15 minutes from the Nantahala. I have ran all those rivers and miss that area a lot sometimes, but one thing for sure there aren't many jobs there.

i could find ya one if you want to be a guide . if you want to work this summer give holler .
