Phantom Alerts

Howdy,

An odd thing just happened. I got an alert that someone quoted a post of mine.

I tapped on the alert to see how my post was quoted, but was directed to a post where I was not quoted:

I wonder if my post was inadvertently quoted, then deleted by Wandering_About, and somehow the system still sent me an alert. This is a first for me and I don't really mind, but I thought to report it in case there's a bug in the system.

That's probably what happened.

Conversely, if you make a post and then edit in another's quote or tag them they won't receive an alert.

I hope it doesn't alert, as I fat finger that "quote button" all the time....

.nope, but I didn't even get This one.

I thought That was fixed. A couple months ago I noticed I wasn't getting alerts when contacted like you just did.....I just stumble upon them.

And probably most people think I'm ignoring them...Ha.
