272FAC33-8E5E-4F8D-BC97-6548A1FC125C.jpeg hi guys, i found an opk for sale but i can’t find it’s name and what it’s worth, it hold the 42 number, sorry for the poor quality picture , note the measuring tape is metric.
thanks

Looks like an SA Shadow or similar-
Perhaps nyefmaker nyefmaker can be of assistance? Outside of that, you can always forward the pic to info@chrisreeveknives.com
Anne can probably identify it, but they won't give valuations.

I am by far not the expert on OPK than nyefmaker and a few others. If you would turn the blade around and there is no "USA made", then the number and the hex cap indicate that it is made in South Africa (also early USA made OPK were numbered and could have a hex cap as those days were kinda transition period after the move of the Reeve's from SA to USA).

More important is the false edge we can see at the pic. I think this is quite a rare bird because of the false edge. Shadow does have the spearpoint blade, but not that false edge. But the real experts need to chime in.

Thanks for the mention. It’s not a shadow, but a limited run model. I actually just came across this again recently. I will have to look through my several thousand CRK pics to try to find the model name for you. Value is tough as this is very rare and was never a normal production model. Value could easily be several $thousand$. The closest I have had to this is a single guard shadow III, but this one has a double edge 1/2 way down the spine. I will look through my info and get back to ya.

for those who have the dvd of crk shop tour with jessica lee , in the part one disc when chris shows her all different opk models in the office cabinet you can easily see the #1 phantom knife at the bottom left in the cabinet ! i’m now in touch with the seller so it’s will be at my place soon probably and i’ll post some pictures of it then !

That's one rare bird! Lovely condition! Well done on finding that one!

yes , unfortunately box and paperwork missing... on the period advertising i have there is a hinged wooden box with it but never seen other more accurate pictures of it.

That's a shame but it's a cool knife and very rare. Most of my early SA made knives don't have the paperwork but some of those are 35 years old...... Chris's father made wooden display boxes for some of his early knives. Never seen a OPK with a wooden!
