Like many, I thought Phil was a genius and love my Boguszewski knives. I am starting this thread for us to share our best Bogies (none are really bad) and in particular, ones that he made in his final years between 2010-2013.

After asking for seven years, Phil made this Timascus and Damascus saber grind Cobra for me 7 months before he passed. The sister piece is a matching MINI-COBRA he made for Solvang 2012. (Not sure who owns that?) I believe it is the only saber grind damascus & timascus Cobra (with timascus clip) in existence and I am honored to own it.

LOOKING FORWARD TO SEEING OTHER MEMBER'S CHERISHED BOGUSZEWSKI's!!! (RIP PHIL B.)

Thats a beautiful knife right there.
A great shape.
Very rakish with the harpoon style blade in a short compact package.

I liked Phil and his knives. Over the years I was fortunate to own a few of his really special pieces this one that fits your time line, a Cobra with:

Blue G10
Devon Thomas Stls Damascus
Unique Hawk Lock - designed by Grant and Gavin
Custom Clip - three mounting positions

Here is the Big Apple flipper, inspired by Jess Horn's folding New York Special. I asked Phil if he would make this knife and showed him a drawing I had a friend do for me. I expected him to say "maybe" but when he said "you want one of those" I couldn't believe it. Six months later I had the knife. It became his most popular model the last couple of shows, it was the first pick at the last two USN shows Phil did.

A few more.

Great thread, Adam!

This is the only one that I got in recent years, sold it at GV....they are going for very robust prices right now.

This one had orange peel ti bolsters, saber grind, black jigged micarta and a safety orange G-10 backspacer for a splash of color....oh yeah...tip up carry.

Sorry for the crap photo.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Martin... Is that the Timascus/Damascus Mini-Cobra? Do you still have it?

Here are my Stag Cobras!

Martin was friends with Phil, and has always had some the finest examples of his work I have ever seen in one collection... Thanks for showing us such an awesome cross section of models, Martin...

Best Regards, Rich

Coop... I need to have you do your magic with my Bogies. Are you ever in California? I believe you setup at AKI once???

Adam, that is the Timascus Mini from Solvang, Erni from Magadan Russia owns it now. Your stag Cobras are awesome, the Sambar stag Cobra was one I lusted after.
Rich, thanks for the kind words and here is a picture of an Asp you've seen before, unusual because its got Eggerling carbon steel Damascus bolsters.
And a few more, I was a Bogi addict!

OMG Martin! That ASP is amazing! I swear I am not coming on to you! LOL (Never told a man he has an amazing ASP before!)

The plain Sambar Stag Bogie took me 3-4 years to acquire. Another collector (Basko) got it at the Solvang Show in 2007 and I sent him an email every year until he finally decided to sell it. Phil made the Amber Stag Cobra for me in 2009 with some amazing exhibition grade stag sourced from Culpeppers.

Here is one that I was honored to purchase direct from Phil and feature on my website (he was very pleased with how I presented his work at The Fort)

And another that recently stopped by for a visit - a Rare Prototype

Phil was certainly a Master of his Craft.

Would anyone here have an idea of the date on this “Bogie” mini trapper?

Great thread!

Well, he started to make knives in 1979. I'm guessing these slipjoint folders he made were in his early production, so probably between 1979 and 1989 at best.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific...
