Taken by the beauty of Phil Boguszewski's tribute to the Stiletto I was fortunate enough to be able to bring this terrific knife home from OKCA.

Now I'm curious about the knife and wonder how to find out about it (materials used, how many were made and who did the damascus). I've beat the Google bushs and came up empty. Thank you kindly for any information and research tips.

I'm having dinner with Phil and Sue tomorrow night, I'll ask him for you, and post when I get home.

Thank you for the kind words Lycosa.

May you live for a thousand years Kohai999. I feel a little funny admitting it but I actually sent a fan letter to PB a few years back.

All the best,

Thank you Allex.

I've read in the ad copy for the Ti-Lite that CS gives credit to Phil Boguszewski.

Real nice.
I like how the damascus pattern mimics the handle.
Did you win a drawing or was this available on his table ?
Congrats!

Doug

Your knife is an older model of Phils. The makers mark is from Tacoma Washington and his knives are now marked Lakewood Washington. The handle and liners are titanium and I'm not sure of the maker of the damascus but am guessing it is stainless damascus. Phil Boguszewski was at the Santa Barbara show last weekend.

Awesome Knife..

Congratulations...

Looks like either Norris or Thomas SS Raindrop Damascus...I am just speculating.....

Beautiful..

Thank you Doug. I've never won a drawing and I was hoping someone would ask for the story.

I purchased from a gentleman who had just purchased a large gun collection. The collector passed away, unfortunately. The original collector had his guns laid out in display cases with a terrific, new, perfect and unused knife between each gun as a spacer.

Every famous, infamous and excellent kife (customs and factory knives) were represented in pristine condition. The seller wasn't familiar with knives so I answered as many questions as he asked about the various knives. The original owner was a lefty as far as I could tell from the number of left-handed knives. The table was crowed with the best top-of-the-line collection of knives I have ever seen in one place.

None of the knives were priced or otherwise marked. The vendor would refer to a list when asked about pricing. A terrific guy and generous with his kindness. Never a dull moment for me at OKCA over the years.

I came to the show looking for older French factory automatics and left with an outstanding piece of art from a craftsman whose work I have coveted for years. Benchmade's version of the Spike really put the hook into me when I first began my enthusiasm.

Thank you kindly for the information martinr. I suspected that the liner was titanium because I don't think that I've ever seen jeweling like this on anything other than titanium.

I really appreciate your input.

My jaw dropped when I discovered this particular knife in the sea of outstanding knives that was covering this gun dealer's table. I started to sweat when he allowed me to pick it up and we talked. It is an exciting rush to see such a knife in person.

Phil says it is Devin Thomas stainless damascus, and you should e-mail him because he can tell you exactly when it was made.

He thinks it sold for $750.00 when it was new.

Terrific work. Thank you.

I've pinged PB with some pics and questions. Many of the blanks are filling in.

Martin has generously overwhelmed me with photos of PB's work and I have a feeling like electricity going thru me. This is quite a world that you live in.

All the best,

Martin,

The Boguszewski group photo, thank you kindly, has taken top spot as my desktop background. Wow!

It displaces photos I've taken of Bald Eagles at close range, wildlife of all sorts, moutainous landscapes and other hard to get cherished shots.

You have serious talent and skill as a photographer and copious taste as a cutlery collector.

Any of your shots are candidates for framed wall-hangers, desktop backgrounds and posters I would pay money for. Congratulations, you are a success.

Thank you very much for the compliment. The subject matter, i.e. Phil Boguszewskis knives, is what makes the photos so appealing. Glad you like them and it sounds like you'll be competition in the Boguszewski drawing at the next show.
