Wow. Absolutely beautiful. When are you sending it to me? :D

Gorgeous Jim! What does this steel at that hardness compare to?

That's a knife! Your new reference standard for wear resistance tests. Probably not much more available wear resistance on the market anywhere in a practical sense. It's beautiful too, and at .010 it should really slice away. Phil Wilson's knives are as good as they get in their category.

I believe that's an Uddeholm Bohler powdered steel that is supposed to have great toughness, super wear resistance, and high compressive strength. They use it for dies, barrels, punches, and that sort of thing.

Thanks guys. :D

K294 is Bohlers 3rd Generation vers of A11 (CPM 10V).

Yes I will be doing a complete review on it.

Nice knfe

I've been seeing a lot of Phil's work lately here on BFC. South Fork looks awesome. Performance-oriented cutlery

Congratz Jim,
I'm almost decided to get one myself.
I'd be very interested in coarse vs. polished edge tests if you get time to do that.

That is beyond awesome. Can't wait to see the review of how it performs.

Thats a beauty! Bet it cuts better than it looks!

Very cool. Phil's work is incredible, looks so good, and looks like it works even better

Thanks guys. :)

In the middle of the rope cutting stage of the testing now.

Finished the rope cutting stage, will work on the cardboard and wood soon then write up the review.

That knife is purely a slicer and made to cut. If you use it much harder than that you will probably be disappointed. For just cutting the half tang shouldn't matter at all.
