Phil Wilson CPM-10v knife?

Welcome to BladeForums Phil!

We have three knives made by Phil. I highly recommend his work.

Vasilli, I am new to this forum so maybe a discussion on ZDP189 changes the subject but here goes anyhow.. I did get a pc of ZDP 189 laminated with ATS34 from your source. Long story but my son who lives in Japan brought it out to me on his last visit. I ground, heat treated it and have a blade ready for a handle. I will report on it as sơon as I have a chance to do some testing on it. So far I can say the heat treating was no problem and the hardness on the ZDP came out as advertised. Phil

I did not even grind my piece...

My question was - are you start making knives from ZDP-189 for sell? I know you as one who making all this hi-tech CPM 10V blades etc. - I just wonder about ZDP-189 which is quite rare for now.

Thanks, Vassili.

Vassili, Yes I probably will make them to sell but I want to evaluate the steel first. It is very expensive as you know and is available only in a few sizes right now. My son is talking to them about what might be available in the future and if a quanity discount is possible.

Phil

Thanks Phil those are some beautiful blades, I may rethink my steel choice however after reading about the CPM420V(S90V). E-mail me with a price on the 5 inch Chalk Creek, with Desert Ironwood hidden tang handle in the CPM420v(s90v). thank you!
