I'm going to be in Philadelphia for a few days next month (business). Any place I should make an effort to get to, knife-wise?

The closest knife shop to Philly I know of is in Intercourse, PA. It's still a ways from the city, near Lancaster. I don't remember the name, I'm sure someone else on the forum can provide it. There's probably a knife shop closer to or in Philly, I'm just not aware of them.

Unless your a vegatarian you have to get a Philly cheesesteak. Try Pat's King of Steaks or Geno's Steaks. They are in South Philly and are right across the street from each other. Good eats!

Hope you enjoy Philly!

Dave,

As a life-long resident of Philadelphia I can honestly say there aren't any good knife/cutlery stores in the city. However, you have to go to Gino's Steaks or Pat's Steaks in South Philly. Also, try Nick's Roast Beef. Just ask someone when you arrive and they tell you how to get to there.

Gino's , Pats uuuccckkk! Try tony lukes or Simons steaks on south street! UmMMM

My bad; I forgot all about Tony Luke's. Jim's Steaks on South Street ain't that bad either!

Have fun!

Does AWMA have knives? It's worth a stop, in any case.

There is also an army navy store about a ten minute walk away--Original I.Goldberg?--that had some basic sorts of knives and a lot of surplus and outdoor gear, if I recall correctly...

Don't know about Gino's or Pat's, but, Nick's Roast Beef is tops!!

Oh ya, back to the knife store subject...

I don't know of any in Phila., but, I too have heard of the one out in Intercoarse (I love saying that)

is worth visiting. They were featured in a recent knife magazine article.
Unfortunately, I can't recall the name of the store or the magazine.

I will post again if I can find the names.

The Asian World of Martial Arts is well
stocked (gear, vids, mags, books, etc). Lotsa weapons. Alot of their blades come from Taiwan.

The knife shop in Intercourse, Pa, is overwhelming and a must see.

Does anyboday know the name of the Intercourse store? or How far it is from Pottstown? I want to go over there tomorrow. What is their selection and prices like?

Thanks,

Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill shepards the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brothers keeper and the finder of lost children, and I will stike down upon the with great vengance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers, and you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengance upon the.

By the way, I'm going to be staying at the Korman Suites Hotel (2001 Hamilton Street). Is this anywhere near the Asian World of Martial Arts?
