Philippines trip

I was scheduled to go to the PI with my girlfriend but I got cancelled by work requirements. She's still going and I've asked her to look for authentic quality barongs and balisongs, not cheap tourist stuff. Any advice on what I should tell her to watch for? She's filipina but she doesn't know a knife from a rock unless she gets pi$$ed.

Be sure to ask on the balisong forum. There are a couple of guys there who own "good" quality FHM butterfly knives. I went to Batangas myself a couple of years ago, and couldn't find anything but the cheap tourist junk.
