Took a day trip on Saturday. Drove over to Cumberland Falls with my wife (six months pregnant) and our daughter.

Here's a couple photos of the falls- never saw the guys fishing catch anything while we were there.

We planned on doing a hike while there, but the wife got hot and it was our girls nap time. So maybe next time.

I did find a neat program on the Ky State park website called Trail Shape. They want you to hike 16 different trails at various parks within a years time. It totals around 40 miles. My wife wants to try it next year.

Nice falls, I would be under in a sec. Looks like there may be some room behind the falls to hang out in the cool spray.

In a scene like that, I don't think you need to catch fish, just being there would be good enough

Haven't been in a while. Last time was a few years back to see the moonbow. It's a cool place when it's not crowded.

Great pics - I LOVE waterfalls!

Congrats on the new one on the way.

Thanks- we're having a boy this time. I won't be out numbered any more.

I love waterfalls too. Anytime I'm traveling I like to hike or go to waterfalls. In the outdoor photo sticky on page 57 I posted some other waterfall photos.

Cumberland Falls is beautiful but those pictures are decieving in that they were taken from far away ( notice the size of the people on the rock in the bottom left). I grew up in the Somerset area (about 20 minutes north of the Falls) and when I was a kid there was a foot bridge to the cave behind the water. They closed the bridge ( I heard) because of people reaching out and getting yanked off the bridge and killed in the fall.

I don't remember exactly but it seems like the fall is well over 100 ft ( I haven't been since I was about 12). It is an amazing sight.

Nice pics. CF is a great little weekend getaway park. The Eagle Falls trail there is a favorite.

As good as the water there looks, I've never seen anyone take a fish out of that pool beneath the falls. Maybe is better for night lining cats.
