have you ever seen a knife in a magazine or on a website that looked kind of odd, or wierd? but then when you get it in person it looks pretty darn awesome? im posting this because i have a hissatsu folder, and all the pictures online show the blade is disproportionate to the handle. but in person its perfectly fine. this also happens with alot of spycercos. so what knives do you see in pictures that sometimes look completely different in person?

Benchmade Sibert 755 MPR. It looked bigger in the pictures, but when I held it, it made my Delica look huge by comparison. Also makes my XM-18 feel skinny.

Zero tolerance 0200. Videos and photos couldn't do it justice. Some made it look monsterous and others normal size. Once you get it its like a folding fixed blade!

In my experience, for most knives out there, someone somewhere has taken a picture that accurately represents it. If the knife is way off expectations, you probably weren't looking at a very good picture of it.

Yeah, I agree. There are some folks here on the forum who do a great job of taking sets of photos from all the relevant angles and with useful side-by-side comparisons to other knives.

But assuming the OP was just talking about stock photos and the like, one that comes to mind for me is the Spyderco Vallotton. The profile view in the stock photo of it makes it seem like it's going to be a thin, delicate gentleman's knife, when in fact it's very thick and robust.

I always need to find a pic of a spyderco in someones hand. looking at there catalog the delica looks like it's the same size as the ladybug.

You know, that is the only reason I never picked one up... so it isn't like the blade is ridiculously tiny compared to the handle?

No picture of the CS spartan has ever conveyed how big it is!

And for me, the spyderco manix 2 always has a skinnier looking blade in the pictures

i agree completely with the spartan. also, is it just me, or do all of benchmades knives seem much smaller in the pictures?
