Hi everyone, I'm not real active around here - more of a lurker, really - but I figured it's about time I shared

This is the first photo I've ever taken of knives, and the first time I've played with focus stacking. I usually do landscape photography... so be gentle

Very much looking forward to adding a CABS to the collection :thumbup:

That 8 meg pic is so good you can see edge rolling/chipping by the red mark on the Waki blade.

The camera setup is a Canon 7D and an EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM lens @ 23 mm. The photo is a focus stack (done with Helicon Focus) of 8 exposures at 1/100 second, f/5.6 and ISO 100. There's a 580EX II flash to the left of the table, set a little too bright - seems like it would be better if the shadows from the flash were a little less prominent. I'm still getting the hang of this kind of photography.

For the hopelessly camera-addicted (and the professional photographers), I'll add that the camera is sitting atop a Gitzo GT2531LVL tripod with an Arca-Swiss Z1 ballhead and a Really Right Stuff quick release clamp.

So Jerry isn't entirely responsible for keeping my wallet slim. But the Busse gang sure plays a big part in that nowadays.
