Hey everyone just wanted to see if anyone could post a spine shot of a Buck custom shop folder of blade to bolster transition? Thanks for any information!

Yes sorry I should have been more specific. I'm looking for a shot of the blade spine with the blade open the transition from the blade spine to the back lock. I'm looking at any of the folding knives that is offered from bucks custom shop like there 110, 112, 501 or something similar. Something like this pic of my Moki

I kind of thought that's what you were looking for. We've had some guys in the past that were good with photos and had such in their album and could pop it out quick for you. I think such a photo you request is among some here. They'll just have to find it. Buck's 112 is not a custom shop offering. Your example shows a good fit. DM

112s custom on the right opened position...

On left closed. Sorry I'm not to good and especially on these F&F images:o!

Thanks, Peter. Did you procure your custom 112 when Buck offered them for 2 weeks back in 2009? DM

Jonny D, I don't think there is much difference between production models and custom shop models in terms of fit, only in the materials used. My opinion is the 500 series folders have a tighter and more square fit (similar to the knife in your picture) than the 100 series knives.

As I said I don't own a knife from Buck's Custom Shop. Still, this is a 112 drop point model, made for the collectors. While choosing which one to accommodate Jonny for this photo, I examined 3 knives. A Duke, a 112 for Buck Collectors clip point and this one. I decided they were all so close that any of them would be a decent example. Here you go. DM

Thanks for all the info guys! Dave that drop point 112 is awesome thanks for sharing it!

Ed, I remember seeing some of those. They are striking. My favorite, nickel silver frame and black polished horn. DM

The good news is that you can still get a 110, 112, and a 501 from the Custom Shop. I, too, love that nickel silver 110 with Water Buffalo horn they offer. I plan to get one as soon as I can convince my wife I need one. ;)

The 501 will be a lot more pocket friendly. The 110 and 112 are tanks. They are very heavy. But they are very good knives that have stood the test of time. Buck invented that lockback that Moki makes so nicely.

Ok, Buck's site is offering the 112 for customizing. I was hoping to find a nickel silver frame. DM

Mine is recent in the last year I think about 7 or 8 months ago. I concur with what BuckShack said. On my 112 CS the spring is slightly more polished and in the closed position there is no play where my factory Ranger there is a slight amount. All my 500s beat the 112CS!

They do offer the 110 in NS. But a 112 in NS would be simply wonderful. I prefer that to brass. Think about a 112 in NS, pins, and black water buffalo. Wow.
