I have the Crux and am undecided about a ZT 0609 -- anybody have photos of the two together?

On paper these two folders are nearly identical in size.

Thank you.

Just rcvd my 0609BLK and I cannot believe how small it feels in the hand. It disappears. It is rail thin.

I took a few really quick pictures for you.

Thanks! I'm in the opposite position from the OP. I have a ZT 0609 and am considering whether to get a Crux in the current drop with the new finishes available. The Crux looks like it would be way thicker in the pocket, which detracts from the appeal for me. How would you compare the two for EDC? Which is thinner behind the edge, or how do they compare in slicing?

I now have the 0609 (in black and bronze), a Crux, and I am considering whether to order another Crux with the new finish. (Sorry, no photos.)

The 0609 is indeed thinner, both in blade and handle.

As for the Crux, it is no heavyweight but it would feel heavier in your pocket. So if you are looking for another 0609, the Crux may not be for you.

For me, the 0609 sets a new standard for thin and light for its size. In that respect, it is the best ZT I have owned. If only there were a version with a 2.99 inch blade!

The Crux is well-balanced, flips well, has gimping on the flipper and a nicely chamfered blade. Compared to the similarly sized all-Titanium Hinderer MP-1, the Crux will not weigh you down.

Both the Crux and the 0609 are relative bargains at their prices. I like and recommend both.

Thanks. I'm not so much looking for another 0609, but rather wonder how the Crux would distinguish itself to live alongside the 0609 in my collection. I imagine the Crux is more of a hard use knife, and in that sense it may possibly replace my PM2 as the knife I perceive as for outdoor harder use tasks.

Any idea how the Crux is as a slicer compared to the 0609?

That new stonewashed bronze finish for the Crux is intriguing.

Massdrop lists the Crux's handle thickness as 0.45 inches. In your photos it appears to be thicker than the ZT, but my 0609 is slightly thicker than 0.45 inches. How does the handle thickness compare in your opinion? Do you know how thick your Crux measures to be? Thanks

My zt 0609 measured at .461 inches thick at the thickest part, and my crux was .495. The 0609 being stepped and not continuously the same thickness makes it feel much thinner than the crux.

The bronze is the only color of Crux that receives the stonewash finish, and I really like it. I just ordered the Juggernaut pattern in bronze.

They just announced that the drop is closing tonight, temporarily. They'll ship the current orders and then reopen the drop for the Crux. So if you're on the fence like I was about ordering, this might be a good time to decide.
