I'm curious as to why my photos display in different dimensions from one post to another.
I use photo bucket as my host.
I re-size all of my photos to 700pxl wide in photo shop before up-loading to photo bucket.
I'm curious why my most recent posting in the Outdoor Gear forum has so much reduced the display size of my photos?

Karl, I think there is a default display size based on how the link is added to the post. If you manually type in the
tags, it shows up in full size. If you use the editor when posting, it creates a thumbnail of the full sized image.

No, there are no thumbnails.
And, I copy and paste the links directly from Photobucket.
Yet, even though I size all my photos to 700pxl wide, they display differently on the thread.
I'm thinking it's the file size.
For example, I just posted one and when I click on the photo and look at "image info" it says, "700px × 525px (scaled to 653px × 490px)" And it pretty well covers up the whole page on Blade Forums and I had resized the photo and it reads "140 kb".
Earlier on up the same page I had posted the same photo at 700 pxl, yet left it at the full file size of 223 kb and Blade forums image info says "700px × 525px (scaled to 353px × 265px)".
And it displays as a much smaller photo on the page.
So Blade forums must have a default file size, and if the photo is too large - not in pxl size, but in file size - it reduces the image size to meet that default maximum.

I guess I'll need to start reducing my file size while in photo shop.

Looks like I was wrong on that.
I just went to the thread where I had 10 photos in one post that had all been reduced in size.
I deleted 5 of them, and the remaining 5 all came back up to full page size.
So it must not be the individual photo size, but there must be a maximum information allowed PER POST.
Then I made another post with the 5 I had removed, and they also went back up to full size.
I'll remember that in the future.
