So it just came in the mail today. I have to say this was one of those knives I instantly liked. I got it out of its box, and it was in its plastic and I knew immediately that it was a winner for me. Weighs next to nothing. The CF is excellent, potentially some slight blade rub, but this one is going to be my EDC. A real cross between modern materials and traditional!

So I've been meaning to try out another Cold Steel Product. I haven't had one around since my pop bought one of the old folders that they would advertise going through a car door. The new steel really got me. And I've been looking for a traditional modern slipjoint for ages now. The Cold Steel Lucky really fit the bill. I ordered one last night, I saw Charlie Mike's video on it and the Apostle P's. Can't wait to get it in has anyone else picked up this model yet?

I'll post up some photos when it comes in!

This one is definitely on my short list. I've been a fan of carbon fiber for a long time, and have recently gotten into traditionals. There have been entirely too few options available, and I wasn't going to pay the premium for the Case versions. This one tickles my traditional and CF fancy, yet also looks modern enough.

Thanks for the post heading to YouTube now. I've been looking for a carbon fiber slip joint.

This and the Finn Wolff both caught my attention this year. I was planning to buy both. I got the Finn Wolff, I was waiting to see if the Lucky's retail price stabilized. The first few available were going for more than I was willing to pay.

Its definitely stabilized @ around 70 bucks! My problem is the shop I used sent it via snail mail so maybe that accounts for the price difference! Turns out I would t get it until next week!

$70 seems to be the going rate, that's what mine cost as well.

That's about thirty bucks more than I was expecting once they became available. I would say I am going to pass on it, but who am I kidding? I'll stall for a few weeks and wind up with one anyway.

I wonder if there's any chance of getting both blades as plain edge? Not the biggest fan of serrations myself...

edited to add, I know they are the same blade, perhaps one would or could be made into a coping blade? something so you have an option besides just having a serrated one.

Looking at the serrated blade I'm certain you could turn it into a fine whittling blade if you wanted to!

$30 more than you were expecting? Damn man, the Finn Wolf with griv-ex and AUS-8 runs $35, you thought a knife with carbon fiber and 2 XHP blades was only gonna run $40? That's some really optimistic thinking! Wish it was true though!

Yeah I realize that now I did not realize the materials when I first saw it. It's a lot nicer knife than I thought at first.

Yeah, for anyone interested in this particular style of knife, it's a really, really quality blade. Obviously, if you don't do slipjoints it's not for you, but if you want a "gentleman's knife", or just a traditional style knife with some modern influences, it's a must buy.

I am still planning on picking one up. I might make it a Christmas gift for my daddy.

My bank account is still recovering from the Warrior Chisa Katana I just bought, but this one is next, after I save up a bit more.

Lawd.. when did cold steel go from (imo) mall ninja stuff to this?! My wallet disapproves but my pocket yearns for it

They've been going in a more practical direction for quite some time now, but this may be their first step towards classy, at least as far as the knives are concerned.

Perhaps we'll see a video of Lynn Thompson hacking at a swinging hot dog with this knife. Hiyaah! That would be great. This knife is on my short list.
