Photobucket?

I have a question. So often I go to look at someones picture of a
knife and instead of a picture I get the photobucket blank where
the picture has been removed.
My question is what is the advantage of photobucket over something
like Flickr where it seems I can download as many photo's for free as
I like whereas photobucket I couldn't? Not knocking them but just
curious of the advantages or disadvantages?
thanks,
Sean

The free photobucket accounts have bandwidth restrictions. But for me, whose photos rarely get looked at (apparently) it has never been in issue (I think). I don't know that there are any advantages over any other site, but I find photobucket easier (faster) to log into and upload images than flickr.

Another possibility is that the Owner of the Account moved or rotated the pictures, sometimes this causes problems, or they may have simply deleted that pic from their album.

Yep, photobucket has hundreds of my pics, I never have a problem, moving pics to different folders will break the link though.

ditto. I only use my account for BF pics. I just leave them where they were when I linked to them and all the threads still show them.

I'm not real familiar with photobucket, but Flickr's new policy limits the number of photos you can upload for free.

I generally use Zooomr, which has a cool UI and which does allow unlimited photo uploads.

My laptop got zapped with a nasty virus about a month ago that came from photobucket. I was talking to some other people who also got hit with a virus that they got from photobucket. One of them sent an email to them and he got a reply stating that they were having problems with viruses. I started using Photoshop after that.

I prefer Flickr. Photobucket kept distorting my pictures. Even though it makes it easier to embed photos and video, I prefer the security and freedom Flickr offers. It does have an upload limit that goes by the month, but if used wisely it isn't an issue. And to my knowledge, they've never been hacked badly enough to affect customer accounts to any great degree. They also don't restrict what you can upload or view. Nudity, violence, LOLcats, anything goes.

I use Picasa Web Albums. It is run by Google and I am very happy with it. They give you 1gb for free and I pay $5 a year for another 20gb that share between multiple services such as email, docs, picasa etc.

I find tinypic good, you don't need to make an account, of course that could be a negative, but its good for me who just wants to upload 1, 3 or 5 maybe a few more phtoos everynow and then
