I'm an artist, photographer and knife lover. I'm interested in combining all of my skills in photographing knives. I subscribe to all the major knife periodicles, so I've seen a lot of work out there. I was hoping members might have website suggestions to view what they would consider to be outstanding examples of photographic work involving knives as the theme. Many thanks.

Thanks for the props. :)

The Patriarch of modern knife photography is, without a doubt, Jim Weyer.

If you have an opportunity to acquire any of his 'Points of Interest' books (there is a series of five), you will admire many incredible knives with equally incredible lighting and backgrounds/props. Very different than my style.

Similar work is in the current book by Scott Slobodian geared toward Japanese inspired swords and knives: 'Sword Art'

The four books Dr. David Darom has produced: Custom Folding Knives, Custom Fixed Blade Knives, The Art of Custom Knifemaking, and The Great Collections are all FILLED with top-level photography and layouts.

Also needing mention is The World of Custom Knives by Roberto Allara, photographed by Francesco Pachi. Now he is another incredible photographer I could only dream of aspiring towards.

Show us your work. :)

Wow! You're great. Thanks so much for the resources, including your own work. Very exciting. Re: my work, I have yet to photograph knives, but will give it a try the moment I have a chance in my insane schedule. My own photography can be viewed at: http://philipbogdan.com/
