I was interested in trying to participate in Mark's photo contest, but I didn't have any pictures that hadn't already been posted and was insufficiently inspired to go out and take any new ones.

That changed today. We had a big wet, heavy snow storm about three weeks ago and it played havoc with the trees around town because most of the leaves were still on. I was driving through the park and found a nice looking piece of hollow tree trunk that had been weathered in a nifty fashion. It reminded me of the picture Lil'Foo submitted, so I brought it home to use as a prop box. I'm pretty pleased with the way the pictures turned out.

Nice! I also like the first pic! That fishy variant is awesome  What is so variant about that Fishy? :D I thought that the Fishy's were .200 double edged SHSHs?

To the best of my knowledge, there were three variants originally given the "fishy" moniker. There was this SHSHII, a finger-grooved AS, and something that looked like a JABM. The "fishy" label given to them because they were made for a guy named Chip. I believe that the other double-edged SHSHIIs came afterward.

While looking for something else, I found this heart-stopper of a post:

Nuclear SteelHeart Pricing
Here is how the pricing goes Hammerhead:

Double edged Ergo handled Steelheart Variant - $597
Double edged Ergo handled SH Variant serrated - $647
Double edged Straight handled SH Variant - $647
Double edged Straight handled SH Variant serrated - $697

Note: the serrations on this series typically appear on the spine of the knife. Although there are exceptions.

Hammerhead - the knife pictured above is the Straight handled SH without serrations. It is $647.

Let me know if you have any questions or need more info.

Marc

This would tend to support the idea that there were multiples of this style. Mine was just the first to be called fishy.
