Hi folks!

I ordered the GEC #15 Scout Knife with sheepfoot mainblade, pen secondary and antique yellow jigged bone about two weeks ago. It is a pretty fast delivery until is was here in Germany. Just great!!! :)
When I came home from work today - Mr. or Mrs. Postman left a small package from MN, USA. Before I ordered it, I was thinking if I actually should, but when I saw the pics, I couldn´t resist.

So I thought I could do a small first-impression-quick-overview of this great knife.

Here it is with its package...

... both blades opened

... the jigging on this one is really great.

No gaps or whatever - no bladeplay of course. Perfect fit and finish!! Oh - and it´s an all-steel construction without NS (IMO)

Perfectly centered blades

Size comparison to some of my GEC-battlehorses

Some just for fun pics - I hope you enjoy them!!

What I can say is, that this knife is really just great. The sheepfoot blade with the EO notch is something unique in my eyes, but it allows an easy access to the blade. But the sheepfoot is a little proud. But it doesn´t bother me at all.

The F&F is just great - awesome is the correct term for this knife. I really like it very very much.

It will find definitelly its way into my pocket frequently.

I hope you enjoy the pics and the comments.
Your comments (positve or negative) are welcome, as always :)

I have the same knife in ebony covers, and I love it so much. Your pictures have me nearly convinced to buy the yellow bone one as well! Thanks andi!

Great pictures and a SWEEEET GEC. Thanks for sharing your new "Scout".

Wow Andi, what a great looking knife, I love that in hand picture of the scales, enjoy it, I bet it will get plenty of use on your lot.

getout: It were your pics that made me want one of these knives - and I thought that classic design with nice bone covers would also be nice and it actually is :)

Tom: Thanks for the kind comment

Pete: Yeah, it will definitelly get some work to do, if on my lot or at my work - I´ll see. But will get some time outside the house ;)

That yellow bone really looks fantastic! I have never really been all that drawn to that particular color of bone for some reason but I think your pictures have just changed that for me. Love that blade shape as well.

Andi that is one sweet looking GEC! I love the shield on it, it seems to just fit the pattern in my eye. With the blade sitting a tad proud that's a good thing on a sheepsfoot for me, make them so easy to pinch open, even if wearing gloves. Thanks for the great in hand photos of your new Scout:thumbup:

P.S. looking at the pics again, that main blade looks to be perfectly set!

Duane - the sheepfoot sitting a little proud is a great tool, you are right. I really like that shield ;)

And yes, the sheepfoot blade is set perfectly.

Oh, what I should propably say about the pull - it´s a 6/10. So just great for a knife with half stops in that size range.

Andi -

I really like the looks of that antique yellow EO!!

And my experience with f&f was exactly the same - perfect alignment, no gaps whatsoever, and nice crisp (but smooth) walk and talk. Worth every penny for an extremely well-made, unique knife. Enjoy that beauty!!

I have played with one a bit and I really like the EO feature. It is very natural. Great pics!

Very nice Andi, glad you got it so fast too :)

The bone on the knife is really nice. Sheepsfoot main and easy open is a winner. Thanks for sharing this with us, Andi

Great review and pictures of a very fine knife. Your reports are spot on with my own experiences with my ebony & red bone single blades. The ebony being absolutley perfect in terms of having the handle edges rounded and the blade edges sharp, as I like them. Love the EO and eagerly await the day I can pick one up bare headed and spear pointed!

These EZ Open #15 Scouts are the first Boy's Knives that I have decided I definitely want to own. For some reason I like the looks of these Sheepfoot Boy's Knives more than the Sheepfoot TC Barlows. It must be the EZ Open feature, which to me, makes the proud Sheepfoot blade look more natural on this pattern.

Your review and pics are great and very helpful, Andi! Thanks!

Congrats on your EO Boys Knife Andi. I have the single blade sheepfoot version in Rust Red bone and am very happy with it. It resides in the watch pocket of my leather motorcycle jacket. :)

Thanks for the kind replies, fellows! :)

Much appreciated.

I´d just need to take good edge on the knife, when I have more time. ;) But that should not be the problem.
