I just finished stripping, convexing, adding a pot lift notch, micarta scales (with a twist), made a sheath, etc... It turned out pretty good and I'd like to post a couple of pics, but can't figure out how to do it.....help!

thanks

Just post the address of the pics themselves. Or do you not have them uploaded to the internet yet?

I haven't uploaded them yet, just on the computer. Can I upload them directly to the forum?

Not unless you're a paid member.
Best thing is to host them on a free pic site like Photobucket, Flickr, etc.
Then you put in your post the following...

If you are a paid member, I believe you can. If not, you need to upload them to a photo hosting site or something of that nature. If you want you can email em to me and I can post em up, or you can sign up for a flickr account and post em up that way. You can also try photobucket or something like that, but then your bandwidth is limited and they periodically disappear until the bandwidth counter resets.

My personal choice is Flickr just because it is easy and doesn't cap the bandwidth of your pics.

Derek is right about Photobucket and bandwidth, though you have to be getting a lot of hits to exceed bandwidth. It never happened to me until recently, and I'd had the account for years. I wound up just upgrading to Photobucket Pro. Unlimited everything and I didn't have to fool with transfering all my pics elsewhere. But it did cost me $35 or so for the next couple of years. Maybe between now and then, I'll take the time to sort/transfer my thousands of pics and find them a free home. It sucks though to find a really good thread here and the pics are missing because someone moved or deleted them.

Go to imageshack.us.

You can upload (multiple) pictures from your desktop, choose the size you want them displayed in (optimized for message boards) and then it will convert and host them for you for free as well as give you the code needed to embed them on the forum.

Okay, trying this...

Okay, what you have there is what the link to the page would be that shows that pic. What you need to do is this: on that page, click share this, then grab the html/bbcode. That will popup, and there will be a big long list of code, which you can paste, or you can grab the direct address of the pic itself by selecting the part in quotes, which for this pic is this: [url]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5055/5413707697_8d3dc8281c_b.jpg[/url]

Once you copy that, click the image button in the comment box (a small pic of a mountain with the sun) and paste that link into it, and you get this:

[IMG]http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5055/5413707697_8d3dc8281c_b.jpg

Notice in that share this, html/bbcode box there is a small drop down that specifies the size. If you have a bigger pic, you will want to set that to the largest one it shows, and then grab the code from inside the quotes (highlight and copy). Each different size that Flickr generates has a different url address for the picture. I myself always use the largest size, cause most of mine are 1000px x 750px.

Also, and this might be easier, you can go to actions, then select view all sizes, pic the biggest size (or whatever size you want) and then right click and select view image. That will show the direct address of the image in the address bar as well.

Derek, you are the man. Thank you very much.

No comment on the lanyard??:D

I am waiting to see if you are going to post the other two pics from the set first.

And yes. I am the man.
